HEALTH | Curb Your Sweet Tooth

I'm a muffin junkie. And not just the kind that hang over my jeans! My favorites can't be listed because I honestly love all of them: Apple to Zucchini, I'm not even kind of picky.

The problem is the high calorie content and general lack of nutrition. Sure, there are healthier ways to construct this delicious treat but who has time for that? I can burn banana bread, remember?

To curb the sweets cravings, I have discovered a few alternatives that help me get through the agonizingly long days of dieting.

The trick to maintaining your metabolism while losing a significant amount of weight is simple:

200 calories.

Aside from dinner, my "meals" average between 100-200 calories throughout the day.

Here are a few of my favorite "sweets" that keep me satisfied.

Clockwise: Top left, Carrot Cake Luna Bar 180 calories; Top right, Emerald Vanilla roasted almonds 100 calorie pack; bottom left, South Beach Dark chocolate sunflower seeds 100 calories; bottom left, Celestial Cinnamon Apple Spice herbal tea 0 calories.
